Hello ! Its been a while since the last interview, so I decided to make a new one. This one will be really interesting, because I got the Lead Administrator Mano here. Mano is a player since 2012.
Thank you for accepting my offer for this interview, could you introduce yourself to us?
Hello! Thank you having me on here! My name's Mano, I am 23 years old and I have been playing SA-MP for 7 years.
When did you start playing GTA?
In 2009, when I had a PS2. I would come home from school and just play GTA:SA all afternoon.
Was GTA:SA your first GTA game? How did you find out that this game exists? Did someone recommend it to you?
Yes, San Andreas was my first GTA. Someone brought a physical cheat book into school and lent it to me, later that day I bought a copy of San Andreas and played all day.
What did you like about GTA:SA?
The story. Because you get to meet interesting characters during your playthrough.
Who is your favorite character from GTA:SA?
My favourite character is Cesar. Because he stayed by CJ's side when everyone else betrayed him. He also looked after Kendl which was appreciated.
One day, you found out that a multiplayer exists. What did you think of it?
I found SA-MP in 2010 from a YouTube video. My first days on SA-MP were very confusing as I was trying to kill people by shooting their skin, rather than lag shooting.
When did you join GTA-MP?
Mid-June 2012. After I got bored of another server. However I didn't make an account on website until the end of June.
What made you to keep playing on WTLS?
The variety of things I could do. I was completely blown away by it. Other servers I played until then were many focused on Deathmatching in LS. WTLS offered so much more than that, and I wanted to try it all. The community was also an important aspect to me, as I have previously only played on servers where they didn't speak English at all.
How do you spend your day on WTLS? Do you have a favorite job or a mission?
I mainly do police job, but it really depends on what I feel like playing that day. If there's something new on server, I will spend some time trying it out. My favourite job is police, it has been since I joined the community.
What is your favorite update on the server?
This is a tough question, there are so many updates to choose from. I think the mobile phone update and the introduction of heists was my two favourite updates. I'm really impressed by how niCe managed to incorperate so many features into phone and really make part of the server almost seamlessly. The long awaited heists also gave us more exciting ways to earn money as well as give us shooting NPCs. Which I was really impressed by, as I didn't know shooting NPCs were even possible to implement in SA-MP.
How do you spend money on the server?
I usually buy houses or cars. If there's something new available on the server I will also buy it if possible.
Have you ever been a part of a clan?
Yes, twice. The first time my friend made a clan and asked me to join, but it didn't last long because he realised he didn't like clans and I eventually left the clan with him. The second time I joined L.S.P.D. they helped me do police jobs and helped me improve myself in the job. However I eventually had to leave that clan too when I became a Moderator.
You are currently a lead administrator on the servers, which is really amazing. Can you tell us your admin journey?
It's long journey. Almost seven years. I think I started Helper position at the end of June/beginning of August in 2012, when HaLfPiPe4 asked me if I am interested in the position, I of course said yes. And one month later I was a Moderator alongside Dave_Turner and Max_Payne. Then current administrators HaLfPiPe4 and Cpira continued to support and teach me which I am forever grateful for. Throughout the years I have taken some time off admin position and even SAMP. I left the Admin Team in spring 2017 as I wanted a break from SA-MP, and later returned in summer to continue. At the end of November of the same year niCe asked me if I would be interested in the Lead Administrator position, and again, I of course I said yes. I have since been Lead Administrator on S2 and S3 ever since.
What do you do as a lead administrator? Can you tell us the difference between the lead administrator and administrator?
The job is still mostly the same, not much changed from when I was an Administrator. The main difference between Administrator and Lead Administrator is the amount of responsibilities given to you. Many times staff members will seek my opinion on certain issues or if they need help with some things they will ask me.
What do you think about the other lead administrators?
Seppo, BLADE and R3kT are my friends. I have known them for quite some time now. Though I don't get to see BLADE and R3kT as much as I would like nowadays unless they visit Server 2, I have been spending some time with Seppo on the server doing jobs, or anything we feel like doing. They are really awesome people, I constantly learn new things from them, and I'm grateful they are part of the Admin Team.
What do you think about the current Admin/helper team?
I think we've got really good team on the server. Almost all the admins I have met when they were players or got to know them better when they became Helpers, and to see them grow and reach higher positions always makes me proud of the Admin Team and their constant contributions to the server. I have always considered Helper position to be extremely important, as they are the first people most newly registered people meet. The Helpers have been consistently excellent and helpful and I wish them the best of luck in their future endevours on the server as they reach higher ranks. The Admin Team as a whole is full of exciting people and it has been a pleasure to get to know them.
You said that you are a player since 2012. Tell me, did the community change as the time passed?
Definitely! The community has drastically increased in size from 2012. You might have noticed Server 1 and Server 2 had its player slot increased to 290 and 240 respectively. It's great to see some many players stick around and play for so long. Players have have been sharing their experiences, videos, screenshots, comprehensive guides, blogs etc with us and the internet. It's always really exciting to see what the players create next.
How do you spend your free time?
I really like watching movies and read books, recently I started reading the Witcher novels after I've played through Witcher 3 video game and was blown away by its story.
Do you work or study?
I have just finished my 3 year degree in Games Development, before that I was studying Computer Science for a couple of years. I am hoping to work in the Games industry, maybe one day even work for Rockstar. That would be a dream come true.
What about your own Game Industry?
I have thought about that too. If the opportunity arises I will absolutely start my own company to make games. But for now I would like to learn more and get more experience.
What are your favorite kind of games?
I like shooter games. Ever since I was young I played them. I think I started with Unreal Tournament when I was young and gradually expanded from there to Counter Strike, Team Fortress 2 etc. Nowadays I play mostly anything if I like the appeal of it. I am really excited for Cyberpunk 2077 to come out.
Yes, I have made quite a few. Though, none are public. Some are just really basic to test character movement, shooting or to learn something entirely new to me for example car handling. Some are a little bit more complicated because they were assignments.
Alright Mano, I am ending the interview here, thank you so much for your time :D Is there something that you would like to tell to our readers?
Thank you so much for having me on here, this was really fun to participate in and I hope to read more interviews from different staff members in the future. I would also like to thank everyone who has read this far and I hope you enjoyed it. Goodbye.
Thank you so much for reading this interview, the next interview will be with the lead administrator R3kT!
